River Silks takes a field trip to Fireside Stitchery

"Belle Carnevale"

Today was wonderful and inspirational.  I took a field trip to Frazer, PA to visit Maria DeSimone at Fireside Stitchery, and to drop off “Bella Carnevale” for display.  During the past 18 years, Maria has built this business from an internet shop to a beautiful establishment, full of thousands of fibers, canvases, accessories, a class room and inspiration.  We spent a lovely afternoon chatting about business, real life and, of course, fibers.

The canvas “Bella Carnevale”, designed by Leigh Designs and stitched by me, won First Place in the Embroidery Mixed Media division at the 48th Annual Woodlawn Needlework Exhibition this year.  For the first time since the Exhibition, “Bella Carnevale” will be on display at Fireside Stitchery.  I love Leigh Designs canvases, if only there was time to stitch them all.  If you are in Frazer, Pennsylvania, make a point to stop by Fireside Stitchery, and visit with “Bella”, and Maria.
