Off topic: Diacritic marks with the iPad

I’ve recently joined the modern age and have my first smart device- an iPad. On the iPad, there is a lovely Notes app, great for jotting ideas. On first glance, the keyboard does not have the “option” key, which, on a regular keyboard lets you type diacritic marks like accents, umlauts, tildes, etc.

Here’s the trick I learned: on the iPad keyboard, if you hold down a letter key, a menu pops up with all the diacritic marks for that letter! Slide you finger up to the mark you want and release. The diacritic mark will show up!

I love technology.
